The year before, I had the absolute pleasure of discovering The Mane Quest, a site that is devoted to horses in video games. The release of Elden Ring now out, and riding being prominently featured, I wanted to check to find out if they had any thoughts about the game's character. I'm not disappointed.
The site--run by the game designer and lover of horses Alice Ruppert -- takes a lighthearted however, deeply sensible approach to topic, and this Elden Ring review is no the exception. Instead of analyzing the game in itself, it simply reviews Torrent as well as other horses as well. It also analyzes how "realistic" their control and animation are.
For games like Red Dead Redemption 2, their reviews tend to lean towards the realistic side of thingssince these are actual horses we're playing with and are able to be directly in comparison. However, in Elden Ring, though, these aren't horses at all and therefore, the review will be a bit different.
Torrent's neck is covered in enough shaggy fur to make a Jorvik Wild jealous, his long forelock and large set ears provide him with that Highland Cattle, fresh-out-of-bed look and there's many dapples on his butt which are adorable but are mostly obscured by baggage and tack.
